HEARING AID FITTING

We believe that our patients’ needs are unique and deserve individualized attention. That is why we tailor our hearing aid selections and fittings to best suit our patients’ lifestyles, needs, and budget. We are not a one-size-fits-all practice. Our patients can select hearing aids from a variety of manufacturers, styles, and price points. The hearing aid manufacturers that we utilize set the industry standard for durability and sound quality.

Hearing aid fitting is a critical part of your success with hearing aids. Hearing aids work extremely well when they are fitted to your ears and adjusted for your hearing needs and preferences.

First, our hearing professionals will check that your hearing aids are physically comfortable, then we’ll program the hearing instruments, check your hearing with the hearing aids in place, and show you the advanced features of your new hearing aids and how to care for them.

We help you get the best sound with your hearing aids

We will program your new hearing aids based on the results of your hearing test and your individual preferences and unique listening environments. We can fine tune your hearing instruments to help you hear in a variety of situations including restaurants, crowds and other difficult listening situations. Hearing is subjective, so even someone with the same hearing loss as you may prefer to have their hearing aids programmed differently.

Live Speech Mapping

At Advanced Hearing Solutions we also use Live Speech Mapping, a fitting process that uses probe microphones and live real-time speech to allow you and your family members to immediately see and understand the benefits of hearing aids and fitting adjustments.

Help With Your New Hearing Aids

We firmly believe that every patient deserves thorough and accurate follow-up care with their hearing aids. That is why we offer a variety of service plans and packages to ensure that the hearing aids meet changing lifestyle needs. Quality hearing healthcare goes beyond the hearing device itself. We help patients and their families navigate diverse listening environments and develop simple strategies for better communication.

We promise to work with every patient to enable them to achieve their best hearing.

Adapting to Your New Hearing Aids

Research shows that it takes time to adapt to new hearing instruments. This adaptation process may take from a few weeks to a few months. During this time, the brain gradually “rewires” itself to get used to hearing sounds in a new way. Our audiologists may make adjustments to your hearing instruments during this time. Since this is a gradual process, we recommend that you follow the guidelines below to assure success. Remember, practice and patience are very important.

Remember: People who are most satisfied with their hearing aids and derive the most benefit from their usage are those who accept their need for amplification and wear their aids at all times. The intermittent user seldom experiences the full range of benefits received by a full-time hearing aid wearer.
